If my OG PS5 kicks the dust I would deffo be picking this up. But in terms of upgrade incentive, currently I don't really need what it is offering.
I just hope performance mode doesn't disappear from the base PS5 as hitting 60fps is my minimum for gameplay.
This took me on an ebay hunt of nostalgia
Pre-ordering I liken to gambling. I don't gamble.
That's my approach. If it reviews well and is meant to be a good time, I will buy it. I am not one to gamble £70+.
As someone who's TV has been hijacked by kids, I intend to pick one up at some point.
Silent Hill 4 was a great game. It wasn't initial developed to be a Silent Hill title, it became one half way through development and I think that showed a little. But s good title none the less.
You do, just play a different game.
Wipeout Fusion
Kill Zone
I agree with @Hotpot, I would go one step further and say it also means they get away without discounting the price of a standard PS5 SKU (PS1-PS4 this far into their life cycles had lowered in price significantly), but it still look like the value option.
It's all shady corpo greed.
For me it's the quality and creativity of the games and their mechanics. Something that is lacking in a lot of "AAA(A)" developers who just focus on marketing, graphics and celebrity tie ins. Let's be honest, with the exception of a handful of games, this generation so far has just been regurgitated open world games taking little to no creative risk.
I think it basically exists so they can keep the price of the standard model the same without lowering it, and it look an ok deal.
PS4 original had dropped a fair bit this far into it's life cycle.
I was completely sucked into this game, crazy addicting in terms of gameplay loop... tons of secrets to find.
Ubisoft is more like big budget junk food for me. They'll tick a bunch of boxes with copy paste content but quiet often create some really nice environments for them to live in. When there is nothing going on, they're great to pick up for twenty quid and play for a bit.
No its not that bad, but feels very dated loaded in through doors etc. You get used to it, but it does damage immersion.
I hate this stupid concept of counting hours of gameplay vs price paid.
You're paying for the experience. An experience can be delivered incredibly well and last 10 hours for £70 for all I care, I'd rather that than an Ubisoft map filler with repetitive content literally placed to fill out the hours for folk like you.
Price is getting a little spicy now. I have had Ultimate since its inception, for the most part value for money has been pretty good... however as a cross console/PC gamer, I have just left it to roll on even when I am playing other consoles, at this price I won't be. Perhaps I'll subscribe to play a big blockbuster, but I wouldn't be coughing up for the tosh in between.
It's a shame really as it got me playing genres and games I would have otherwise overl...
I just roll everywhere
I agree, but nowadays its rare for a finished game to live on a disc anyway. Most of mine require day 1 patches that fix a lot of necessary crap.
I don't disagree, but I also am a bit "meh" about it. Right now the only game I am dead excited for is Space Marine 2... I am finding AA's, indies and small studios at the forefront on what I am enjoying this gen.
Same, I also only played the base edition on PC, so Directors cut is a tempting double dip.
